Looking for a fun way to fill an afternoon without screens? Creative play gives children space to imagine, make choices and feel proud of what they create.
Here are five simple activities you can enjoy at home.

Set up a small painting station with figurines, paint pots, brushes and a washable table cover. Children can paint animals, vehicles or magical characters in any colours they like.
Tip: Let them choose the colours themselves. There is no wrong way to create.
2. Make a story from your creations
Once the painting is dry, ask your child to create a short story about their figurines. Who are the characters? Where are they going? What adventure are they having?
This is a lovely way to build imagination and language skills.
3. Create a gift for someone special
Painted magnets and keychains make thoughtful little gifts for parents, grandparents, teachers or friends. Add a handwritten note to make the moment even more special.
